Education Pillar

Education

The Foundation pays school fees for bright children whose families cannot, and has done since 2012. Mentorship runs alongside the fees, and the alumni forum keeps track of where people go afterwards.

  • 1,024learners on scholarship this academic year
  • 104sat KCSE in 2025 with Foundation support
  • 81of them qualified for university — 77.9%
  • Ksh 90M+paid in school fees since 2012
  • Students in school uniform on stage receiving an oversized cheque.

Scholarships

Fees are paid to the school directly, for the whole of secondary. 1,024 learners are on the programme this year. More than Ksh 80 million has been paid since 2012.

Officers visit each school, meet the head teacher, and check attendance and progress. That is how the Foundation finds out early when something is wrong at home.

Mentorship

Form Four meet in April, before the exams. Form Two and Form Three meet in August. The sessions cover how to study, how to choose subjects, and what the years after school are like, and are run by people who sat the same papers a few years earlier.

2025 KCSE results

104 supported students sat KCSE in 2025 and averaged a mean grade of 7.7, a B−. 81 of them scored C+ or above and qualified for university entry.

Most of the rest sat between B and C+: 16 at B+, 21 at B plain, 28 at C+. Almost nobody finished below D+, and only two papers in the cohort went unrecorded.

Alumni forum

Launched in 2025 to track where alumni go after school, put them in front of the students behind them, and open the Foundation’s other work to them — financial literacy, and the SEED Programme.

How students are selected

The Foundation does not take open applications for the Fanisi Scholarship. It identifies the students it supports through their schools: bright students admitted to a National or County school whose families cannot meet the fees, with first priority for those who have been orphaned or come from a needy background.

Head teachers who would like to put a student forward can get in touch with the Foundation: foundation@enwealth.co.ke or +254 713 617 443.
